What does it mean to be both Queer and African? The Queer African Lookbook attempts to answer this question by using fashion and photography to document the unique intersection of Queer and African identities. Our Lookbook will feature a collection of stylized photographic portraits of Queer African change-makers, coupled with accounts of the history of queer movements in East, West Africa and Southern Africa.
Featuring both instrumental and contemporary African figures, None on Record’s Queer African Lookbook will tell the stories of powerful resistance and expression in the face of unique regional challenges. A testament to the resilience and brilliance of the movements we capture.
